MsingiAI Joins the NVIDIA Inception Program

Today, we’re excited to share a major milestone for MsingiAI:

We have officially been accepted into the NVIDIA Inception Program.

NVIDIA Inception is a global program designed to support startups building the future of AI, accelerated computing, and intelligent systems. The program provides access to technical resources, training, ecosystem partnerships, go-to-market support, and NVIDIA’s broader AI infrastructure.

For us, this marks an important step forward in our mission to build world-class AI systems for African languages.

Why This Matters

Across Africa, hundreds of millions of people speak languages that remain significantly underserved by modern AI systems.

Voice technologies such as speech recognition and text-to-speech have advanced rapidly in recent years, but most systems still perform poorly on African languages, accents, and multilingual conversational settings. In many cases, the datasets are limited, the models are not optimized for local speech patterns, and deployment assumptions ignore the realities of emerging markets.

At MsingiAI, we believe this must change.

We are building speech and language AI designed specifically for African users, beginning with Swahili and East African speech systems that work in real-world environments.

Through projects like Sauti ASR and Sauti TTS, we are focused on:

• High-quality Swahili speech recognition

• Natural and expressive Swahili text-to-speech

• Robust handling of code-switching

• Support for regional accents and dialects

That is why openness remains central to our approach.

We recently released the weights for Sauti ASR on Hugging Face, making our Swahili speech recognition systems openly accessible to developers, researchers, and builders interested in advancing African language AI.

We see this as part of a larger movement:
